GIVING (Donations)

The SDA Church has a website called Adventist Giving. It allows members to give their tithes and offering (Local Church), but it also allows them to give to ADRA, building projects, community services etc. It’s reliable and easier.

Here's how you can contribute online!

Giving Hope for Tomorrow 

 Personal Giving Plan: Tithes- giving 10% to God. God asks us to return to Him a tithe (Leviticus 27:30). Doing so recognizes God as Owner of all creation.

Giving Categories: Local Church: 3-5% 

  • Local church budget- fund helps the church. Whatever the need of the church. For example, hydro bills, water, stationary.

  • Church building (renovation) fund- helps the church with its new building and renovation projects. 

  • Sabbath school- funds go towards the purchase of the Sabbath school quarterly and Sabbath school projects.

  • Community service- funds help provide services to the Albion/ Rexdale communities. Ex: food bank on Sunday, and Love and Care Day event.

  • Local church building maintenance fund- helps the church to remain in functional shape. 

  • Church school subsidy- provide tuition subsidy for students attending our local SDA Christian school. 

  • Evangelism- funds help spread the SDA message and the gospel worldwide. Ex: online evangelism during the pandemic. 

  • Needy poor- funds used to provide assistance to individuals in need; Ex. Rent payment,  prepared meals, warm clothing, and necessities for the poor in Toronto.  

  • Pathfinders- for club operating expenses and projects. For example, camping supplies, pathfinder uniforms, and learning trips.

  • Thanksgiving- yearly offering; giving thanks to God.

Conference/Union: 1-2%  

  • Education- expenses goes to SDA schools in Ontario. Helps to get the necessities that the schools need and help further Christian education

  • ADRA- Adventist Development and Relief Agency is the official humanitarian agency of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. ADRA works to end extreme poverty in some of the world's poorest areas. ADRA develops and delivers community-based sustainable programs and responds to disasters internationally and domestically (weblink?)

  • It is Written Canada- giving will help connect Canadians to the abundant life found in Jesus in a way that is personal and relevant.  

  • Ontario Advance- This offering goes to Ontario Conference to finance programs most congregations cannot fund alone. The funds address specific needs in the overall conference as well as a variety of special projects Ex. Evangelism, magazines and periodicals and Christian Education.

  • Pathfinder scholarship- The purpose of this scholarship is to help our young people to achieve their educational goals by providing financial assistance to Pathfinders who are pursuing post-secondary studies on a full-time basis. 

  • Church Building Investment Fund- assist local churches within Ontario with facilities development. Our primary purpose is to help spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ by providing financing for the acquisition, construction and remodelling of churches, parsonages and other projects and organizations to enable them to expand their ministries. 

World: 1-3%

  • Ukraine- the ADRA Ukraine team, even as they live through the crisis themselves, continues to provide humanitarian aid along with partners and support from outside the country. They are working with the local Adventist church to provide accommodations, food, water, and hygiene supplies to internally displaced people within Ukraine. 

  • World Budget- SDA Church is a worldwide church and the world budget is a contribution to the global mission.
